Looks like the high-octane jiggle-filled action title Stellar Blade could be the next PlayStation 5 exclusive to make its way onto PC, as developer SHIFT UP is considering it.
This was revealed in SHIFT UP’s initial public offering filing on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index, where the company noted that Stellar Blade has exceeded expectations in terms of sales.
The report detailed that plans for a PC version, DLC, and potentially even a sequel are under consideration for the NieR-inspired action title, with such consideration mentioned multiple times throughout the document.
One part of the document reads, “For Stellar Blade, we have plans to introduce new gameplay elements, including downloadable content releases, a PC version, and new [intellectual property] collaborations.”
Later on, another part further explains, “AAA console titles such as God of War and Final Fantasy have shown tremendous potential, selling over [66 million copies and 185 million] respectively. There are many precedents for AAA titles to evolve into [intellectual property] franchises by extending their lifespan through a series of high-quality sequels and maintaining a long-term monetization base. As a result, we are exploring the possibility of a PC version of Stellar Blade and a sequel.”
Aside from news of a potential PC release and a sequel of the studio’s premium AAA debut, SHIFT UP also revealed that they are working on a multi-platform game currently codenamed Project Witches.
The future of Stellar Blade does look as bright, as game director and SHIFT UP CEO Hyung-Tae Kim confirmed in an interview with us that the team is looking to have a crossover collaboration between Stellar Blade and the studio’s own soldier ladies shooter gacha game with equally impressive physics – Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.
Not only that, a Boss Challenge Mode and Photo Mode are also currently planned for the game. And despite the back-and-forth debate on human anatomy lessons regarding the title on the internet, Stellar Blade also quickly became the highest-rated game on PlayStation by user score.
