It looks like a stealth nerf to Starscourge Radahn in Elden Ring was actually accidental, as From Software rolled it back in a recent update to the game.
In the previous 1.03 update, some fans noted that the hitboxes and damage for Starscourge Radahn had been adjusted, calling it a nerf to the bossfight.
As of the new 1.03.3 patch though, that problem has been fixed- with Radahn’s values being adjusted to where they were pre-patch.
“Fixed a bug in the balance adjustment of the boss “Starscourge Radahn” in update 1.03, in which the power of some attacks was unintentionally reduced”, the patch notes reads.
It should be noted that it only mentions the damage of the moves being fixed, meaning there’s a good chance his hitboxes were still left at their post-patch sizes.
Starscourge Radahn is one of the more unique bosses in Elden Ring- rather than being a straight 1v1 fight like most of the game’s fights, he instead takes on the form of a raid boss, as you use the game’s summoning mechanics to pull multiple NPCs into the fight and split up damage between them.
Though entirely optional, he’s also a key part of Ranni’s questline- being necessary for anyone who wants to get to Nokron, The Eternal City since the path opens up after you beat him.
He’s also gained quite a bit of fan popularity due to his comically tiny horse, which even the game mentions him mastering gravity magic just to support better.
