Months before its release, Star Wars Outlaws has sparked another debate as it locks a mission with Jabba The Hutt behind its season pass.
As detailed on its official website, the exclusive Jabba’s Gambit mission will only be available to players who purchase the Gold edition and Ultimate edition, which are priced at $109.99 and $129.99 respectively.
Star Wars Outlaws has already sparked a heated debate about including a season pass for a single-player game, and now with a mission with a highly anticipated character being locked behind it, the decision has, of course, received backlash from fans, as the ambiguous wording suggests that the mission is the only one that involves Jabba the Hutt.
However, a Ubisoft representative has clarified that it would not be the only mission with Jabba The Hutt, as reported by PC Gamer.
According to PC Gamer, the Ubisoft representative has clarified that Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel will be part of the experience for everyone who purchases the game, as they are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars Outlaws.
He also mentioned that the ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission is an optional additional mission with the Hutt Cartel, and that is the mission that is locked behind the season pass.
Despite this, Ubisoft has not clarified if the mission will be released for everyone down the line. Due to this, fans are still quite concerned about the exclusivity of the mission, as it is still a playable segment in Star Wars Outlaws that is only accessible if you purchase the Gold and Ultimate Edition.
Star Wars Outlaws is slated to launch on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PCs on August 30th, 2024. Those who paid extra for the Gold and Ultimate Edition will get a 3-day early access to the game.
