Square Enix has announced that The DioField Chronicle, an all-new strategy RPG with intense real-time tactical battles is set to release this September 22nd, 2022.
A new trailer was uploaded on Square Enix’s Youtube account to celebrate the announcement of the release date:
“In The DioField Chronicle, players can experience a Real-Time Tactical Battle (RTTB) – a new, deeply strategic, real-time battle system, which is further enhanced with a gritty and immersive storyline that is crafted by a skilled and experienced development team”
The game features unique character designs by Taiki (Lord of Vermilion III, IV), concept art by Isamu Kamikokuryo (Final Fantasy XII, XIII, XV, and Paper Mario: The Origami King) as well as beautifully orchestrated music by world-renowned composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell, best known for their work on Game of Thrones.
The game is also confirmed to release in Japan with a collectors edition which comes with a board game and pin set. This will be exclusive to the Square Enix store.
With this game releasing so soon after Square Enix’s recent hit Triangle Strategy, it seems like the company is on a roll with their Strategy RPGs. Now if only we could see Final Fantasy Tactics return to modern consoles.
The DioField Chronicle will release for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 22nd, 2022. A demo for the game will launch on August 10th for all platforms except the PC in Japan.
