Square Enix RPG Gate of Nightmares is Open for Pre-Register

Gate of Nightmares, a new Square Enix RPG with art by Hiro Mashima, the mangaka behind Fairy Tale and Edens Zero is open for pre-register. To celebrate, Square Enix has also released a new trailer for the occasion highlighting one of the 19 main playable characters, the young prince Oliver (CV Natsuki Hanae).

Gate of Nightmares is a new fantasy action RPG from Square Enix. Here is a synopsis of the plot.

Gate of Nightmares is a traditional fantasy adventure of swords and magic, set in both the “real world” where people live, and “Remurias,” a world of mixed up dreams made manifest. When Emma, a girl who became a “Nightwalker” and commands monsters known as “Nightmares,” which are born from bad dreams, encounters Azel, a mysterious boy the Nightmares like, she gets wrapped up in an adventure where the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

All the characters that appear in the game are newly illustrated by Hiro Mashima, and the scenario by Jin Fujisawa is fully voiced.

The action RPG gameplay along with the high fantasy setting and Mashima’s art style reminds me a lot of Square Enix’s Mana series.

There is currently no set release date for Gate of Nightmares however it recently completed a beta test earlier this summer so it is likely to release sometime later this year.
