Square Enix discusses LAST IDEA gameplay mechanics

As LAST IDEA hits 100,000 pre-registered players, Square Enix decided to talk a bit more on the core system for its upcoming mobile RPG.

The game incorporates a “Smart Command” combat system where players will be able to freely zoom in and out of the combat while being able to easily issues commands to units through taps and swipes. Another emphasise made by Square Enix is that LAST IDEA will not have any character or item gacha. As you play through the game, you will be able to find treasures that can be either sold or used to strengthen your party.

There will be more than 600 different types of equipment at launch, each with their own stats and effects. What equipment you use will depend on how your character is built around the IDEA system, which is where you customise your class and skill tree.
