Expanding their smartphone portfolio, Square Enix announced Hanjuku Hero: Aa, Sekaiyo Hanjukunare…!, a game which was initially launched for the Super Famicom in Japan way back in 1992, for Android and iOS. The game will see an initial release in Japan on 19 October 2017, with no details on whether or not there will be an international release.
Hanjuku Hero: Aa, Sekaiyo Hanjukunare…! is in fact a sequel to Hanjuku Hero, which came out in 1988 for the Famicom. The plot focuses on the comical story of certain “Egg Monster” summons that are parodies of Final Fantasy IV characters. The smartphone version essentially updates the original game with better-looking graphics and controls that is more suited for the current generation of players. If you are a fan of old school Square Enix RPGs that aren’t Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy, this may be just the game for you.
