UserJoy Technology and Zhibao International have jointly acquired the distribution rights for the Traditional Chinese PC version of Square Enix’s popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV), according to an announcement made on February 27, 2025. The service will cover Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, and other regions.
The Traditional Chinese version of FFXIV is scheduled for release in 2025. To celebrate this announcement, producer and director Naoki Yoshida has released a greeting video addressing the Traditional Chinese community of players.
A press conference and player meeting for the Traditional Chinese version will be held on March 30. All registered attendees will receive a special in-game mount – the Fat Chocobo (redemption codes will be distributed on the official launch day and must be redeemed within 15 days). The event will feature music performances, interactive games, operational information about the Traditional Chinese version, and a discussion with Yoshida.

Like the Mainland China and Korean versions of FFXIV, this Traditional Chinese version will operate on separate local servers through collaboration with regional companies, rather than on the global servers.
Final Fantasy XIV has a global player base exceeding 30 million and has released five expansion packs since the launch of “A Realm Reborn.” In addition, the game has received over 200 awards worldwide, including TGA’s “Best Ongoing Game” and “Best MMORPG of the Year.” In 2017, FFXIV earned a Guinness World Record for “Video Game with the Most Original Music Works.” The Traditional Chinese version’s official website and Facebook fan page have been launched simultaneously with this announcement.
