Tencent has been working with quite a few big companies such as Bluehole and Activision to develop new games (mostly on mobile) these years, and now Square Enix is joining the list too! Square Enix recently announced a strategic alliance between Square Enix and Tencent, which they will be co-working on AAA titles based on new IPs, the licensing of existing IPs, and more.
Square Enix Group is making tireless efforts to offer unique content experiences to its fans all over the world through multifaceted business deployment. Square Enix Group will be accelerating these business development efforts to enhance its content services worldwide through this strategic alliance with Tencent Group. Outcomes of this newly created alliance include the establishment of a joint-venture company, co-development of AAA titles based on new intellectual properties, the licensing of existing intellectual properties, and more.
Although we still couldn’t know what are the new or existing IPs that they will be working on yet, we may put our hopes up for some Square Enix popular titles to arrive on mobile under Tencent (eg: Tomb Raider, Kingdom Hearts and Nier: Automata). Is the alliance between Square Enix and Tencent sounds good to you? Are there any Square Enix games that you hope Tencent will bring it to mobile? Leave your thoughts below! 😀
