[SPOILER] Marvel’s Spider-Man Story Summarized (Part 1)

One of our most-anticipated PS4 games – Marvel’s Spider-Man has finally launched on September 7! How is your progress now? We spent a week to complete the game, and we really love its story with lots of twists and turns (although it is actually quite short). Read below for the summary of Marvel’s Spider-Man story!

Marvel’s Spider-Man’s story doesn’t tell us how the protagonist, Peter Parker got his power, instead, the story starts at a point that Peter Parker is already 23-years-old and has been the New York City’s superhero, Spider-Man for 8 years. He helps to fight crimes partnering with New York Police Department (NYPD)’s Captain Yuri Watanabe. He also works at Dr Otto Octavius‘s lab, with Dr Otto as his mentor and partner.

Early in the story, Spider-Man defeated a gang of Fisk Thug and their head, Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin. As Spider-Man thought the city will be safe after putting Fisk behind bars, a new gang known as Inner Demons emerges to take over Fisk’s territory.

Peter went to meet Aunt May, who works at the F.E.A.S.T homeless shelter runs by Martin Li. On the other side, Mary Jane Watson (MJ), a reporter at Daily Bugle and Peter’s ex-girlfriend (she knows Peter’s true identity) went to Fisk’s auction house looking for the evidence of Fisk’s crime. She found some files about Devil’s Breath and Norman Osborn, but a group of Inner Demons break in the place looking for the files too. Thanks to Spider-Man, MJ managed to escape the place safely but without the files.

Peter took the antique mask from the defeated Inner Demon and discuss it with MJ over a coffee. Peter then realizes that he could ask for Martin Li’s help as he is an expert in historic arts. However Li didn’t help out much, instead, he warns Peter and MJ to stay out of the matter.

One of the earlier villains in the game, Shocker broke out from the RAFT prison and is causing chaos on the street as well as robbing banks with his electric power. Spider-Man takes him down and learns that he is working for someone that terrifies him.

Dr Otto was working on prosthetic arms that can be connected and controlled via the neural brain, however thing doesn’t work well. Norman Osmond, the Mr Mayor and the funder of Dr Otto’s lab came and decides to pull off all the funding for the lab due to Dr Otto’s violation of the agreement they made. It is revealed that Norman and Otto were once a partner in Oscorp but parted ways on bad terms.

While investigating a warehouse where Inner Demons are probably working on something, Spider-Man teams up with an officer – Jefferson Davis. They did find out some info about what Inner Demons are working on, but Jefferson Davis was badly injured from the car chase against the Demons.

Afterwards, Peter lost his house (probably due to not paying rental) and is temporarily staying in FEAST with Aunt May. Martin Li came, saying that he is heading out to town for something he planned for a while.

As MJ wrote a story about Jefferson on the Daily Bungle revealing him as a hero who saved Spider-Man, he is receiving the Department Medal of Honor at City Hall. Here we know Miles Morales, a super fanboy of Spider-Man as Jefferson’s son.

After Norman presents the award to Jefferson, he receives a call that threatens him by taking everything from him. Just after Norman walks away, Mr Negative show up and set off bombs. Unfortunately, Jefferson was killed in the process. Peter, who was in the crowd when the city hall bombing happens finds out that Mr Negative is actually Martin Li.

Following the city hall bombing, Norman hires Sable, a group of well-equipped mercenaries under Silver Sable to guard the city. Returned to FEAST, Peter sneaked into Martin Li’s office to figure out what Li is planning next. Li appears out of nowhere, knowing that Peter is suspecting him and warn him again.

Peter went to help Dr Otto with his prosthetic arms project again, it works better this time, but some issues that may lead to mental instability occurs as well. Peter also discovers that Dr Otto has a disease that will slowly paralyze his body, and this is why he intends to make the project succeed.

While Peter is heading to FEAST wearing Spider suit, he spots Miles, who is now working in FEAST facing a group of thugs. After saving Miles, he teaches Miles some battle tactics. Peter and MJ work as a partner now, MJ finds out drug dealer Tombstone resurfaces again, probably related to Devil’s Breath. It is then revealed that Mr Negative’s target – Devil’s Breath is a powerful chemical weapon and it is funded by Mr Osborn.

Mr Negative and the Demons robbed the only sample of Devil’s Breath serum from Dr Morgan Michaels, the Scientist who developed Devil’s Breath. Using the serum, he then set up a time bomb in the Grand Central Terminal and ask Mr Osborn to arrive within 30 minutes. Fortunately, Spider-Man and MJ managed to defuse the bomb in time, saving up all the hostages. Spider-Man continues to battle against Mr Negative on the subway, which in result he defeats Mr Negative and send him behind bars in the RAFT.
