Southeast Asian Games to Gain Global Spotlight Through Summer Game Fest 2025 Partnership

In a significant development for the regional gaming industry, the Southeast Asian Games Showcase has announced its first-ever partnership with Summer Game Fest, creating a global platform for SEA game developers. The collaboration will be part of the Summer Game Fest 2025 event scheduled for June 6 in Los Angeles.

The main showcase, hosted by industry figure Geoff Keighley, will run for two hours starting at 2:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. ET at the YouTube Theater. Viewers worldwide can tune in across more than 20 platforms including YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, TikTok, and Steam. According to organizers, the event promises “spectacular new video game announcements, surprises, and reveals.”

Following the main presentation, the Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition will spotlight independent games from developers of diverse backgrounds. The physical component of the festival, will run from June 7 to 9 in downtown Los Angeles, featuring exhibits and hands-on demonstrations for media and content creators, with more than 40 major publishers participating.

The 2025 edition also introduces a new business-to-business event focused on industry challenges and opportunities, curated by former GamesIndustry.biz head Christopher Drink and Geoff Keighley. This segment aims to bring together thought leaders from games, entertainment, and other sectors for discussions about the cultural impact of video games. Public ticket sales are expected to begin this spring.
