Soul Hackers 2, the latest game in Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner series will be released by the end of the week, 25 years after the original game. We were lucky enough to get summon the Soul Hackers 2 25th Anniversary Edition and take a peak at the unique fusion inside (thank you Sega and Atlus!).
The 25th Anniversary Edition includes the game, an artbook, a three-disc soundtrack, and best of all: a figure of Aiho-Kun, the version of Atlus’ mascot Jack Frost cosplaying as Soul Hackers 2’s main character Ringo.
The outbox is displayed in black and bright yellow, plus a small window for Aiho-Kun to peak through.
The art book features concept art for all the central characters in Soul Hackers 2 however it also contains a full-on perspective of the entire Devil Summoner franchise with art and plot synopsis for each game including Devil Summoner, the original Soul Hackers, and the two Raidou games.
Next up is the three-disk soundtrack which is contained in a DVD case complete with new art of Ringo. There’s also special art printed into each disk making them feel all the more fitting alongside the sleek triangular art of the game.
Finally, we come to the true star of the limited edition: Aiho-Kun, whose likeness is lovingly captured in the figurine. The print is well detailed and the colors on their outfit really pop, especially with the hair and jacket.
The figure would look great on any Megaten fans desk, guarding their games from rogue demons, perhaps alongside many other Jack Bros figures.
That’s been our look at the Soul Hackers 2 25th Anniversary Edition. While I gush about Aiho-Kun and almost really like the artbook, showing the full history of Devil Summoner alongside the art and characters that make it so interesting and unique among the different Megami Tensei subseries.
Soul Hackers 2 releases on the 25th of August for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S and 26th of August for PC. For more information on the game check out our review here.
