Palworld is an online open-world survival crafting game where players can capture and train creatures called “Pals”. According to Statista, the game has reportedly sold a total of 25 million copies on both Steam and Xbox platforms as of February 2024.
Palworld was released in Early Access on PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, as well as Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Pass on January 19, 2024. Just 6 days after its official release, it sold over 8 million copies.
The latest update for Palworld was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2024. The Sakurajima update features a brand new island to explore with new pals added. The area features Japan inspired areas to explore along as well as new subspecies appearing. There are new enemies introduced as a new faction has emerged for this update. The update has went live since June 27.
The joint venture will focus on broadening the reach of the intellectual property and expanding commercial business activities. This includes managing global licensing and merchandising efforts related to Palworld, beyond the interactive game itself.
Following the announcement, Palworld merchandise, which is set to debut at the PocketPair booth at China’s Bilibili World 2024 on July 12, 2024, will also be available for online orders through Aniplex, Aniplex of America, and Aniplex Shanghai.
