Sega has announced that Sonic Colors: Ultimate is available on Steam as of today, February 7th, 2023. To celebrate the Steam launch of Sonic Colors: Ultimate, the game will be on sale for 30% off until February 14th.
Sonic Colors Ultimate is an enhanced version of the original Sonic Colors for the Nintendo Wii. This new version is an HD remaster that was previously released for Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and The Epic Game Store.
The game takes place in a gigantic amusement park where the planets themselves are attractions, with a resort-like entrance, sweets factories above the clouds, a spaceship parade, and more. Sonic embarks on an adventure in this park, meeting unique robots and colorful aliens called “Wisps”. By harnessing the powers of these Wisps, Sonic can activate a variety of Color Powers, allowing players to enjoy refreshing and exhilarating action gameplay.
The characters, stages, and other assets have received a vivid, high-resolution upgrade. Remixes of the opening song (“Reach For The Stars”) and the background tracks for all stages and boss battles have been added to the game.
It should be noted that the console versions of Sonic Colors: Ultimate were criticized on release for having numerous reoccurring bugs and performance issues although these were later fixed through subsequent patches.
Sonic Colors: Ultimate is now available for Steam, as well as Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and The Epic Game Store.
