Sonic and Angry Birds Having Massive Crossover Event Over 5 Mobile Games

SEGA and Rovio have announced the gaming crossover event between the two popular franchises, Sonic the Hedgehog and Angry Birds.

News of the crossover was announced by Rovio through a blog post, where it states that the crossover will span over 5 mobile games and will begin from March 15th, 2024, until March 21st, 2024. All games are available on the App Store and Google Play Store.

The mobile games in question are:

• Angry Birds 2
• Angry Birds Dream Blast
• Angry Birds Friends
• Sonic Forces
• Sonic Dash

When a mischievous plan to steal the Angry Birds’ eggs goes awry, a portal is created that connects the worlds of Sonic the Hedgehog and the Angry Birds. To defeat Dr. Eggman, his Badniks, and the mischievous pigs, Red, Sonic, and all of their friends must embark on epic adventures in both worlds.

Featuring new playable characters, collectibles, limited-time events, and exclusive rewards throughout the week, the crossover promises to create a unique gaming experience across the five titles.

This event will mark the first brand crossover since Rovio joined SEGA last year, which aimed to bring together the two fanbases that took the world by storm. Now with this crossover, Rovio feels that this serves as a good opportunity to introduce new players to each franchise while giving something special to returning players.

“Through this crossover with Rovio, we wanted to create something special for fans of both Sonic the Hedgehog and Angry Birds,” explained Mike Evans, Senior Vice President of Mobile and Games as a Service Publishing at Sega of America. “This event provides players with the memorable experience of seeing iconic characters like Sonic and Red playable in the same universe.”
