SNK Corporation has officially released Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves today, April 24, 2025, marking the revival of the beloved fighting game franchise after a 26-year hiatus. The game is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
Alongside the launch, SNK announced the game will be featured in the SNK World Championship 2025, with an unprecedented prize pool of $2.5 million for City of the Wolves tournaments alone. The champion will receive $1.5 million, making it one of the largest prize pools in fighting game history. The new installment features 22 characters at launch, including 17 base fighters and five DLC characters available through Season Pass 1. In a surprising collaboration, soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo and DJ Salvatore Ganacci join the roster as playable fighters.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves introduces the new REV System, designed to supercharge gameplay with offensive options like REV Arts, REV Accel, and REV Blows. The game also brings back classic battle mechanics from the series, such as Combination Attacks, Just Defense, and the two-lane battle system. SNK has implemented two control schemes to appeal to different player skill levels: Arcade Style for technical inputs and Smart Style for more accessible special moves and combos. The game also includes rollback netcode and cross-platform functionality for seamless online play.

Additional features include “Episodes of South Town,” a single-player RPG mode where players can level up fighters and earn rewards, plus AI technology that creates player clones based on fighting styles. To celebrate the launch, SNK is running a social media campaign on X until May 4, with the chance to win premium merchandise.
