Sky: Children of the Light available on Android

Sky: Children of the Light, which you can also refer to as “That Sky Game”, is available on Android, for select regions. A Limited Live launch started in Singapore on 22 November, for Android 9 and 10. Other regions are to follow, according to the Facebook post.

They are working on testing devices and online networking. As of the time of writing, they have not announced any further timings. The 22 November update saw some fixes for Android performance optimization and other things.

Users can also opt to for Sky Beta testing programs. You will need to sign up for thatgamecompany’s newsletter, join the Discord, and the Sky: Children of the Light – Official Beta Facebook group.

Pre-registrations for the Android version are still open, as they work on the official launch. If you are unaware of the game, it’s a social game where you can meet others to explore the world. You will meet spirits, who share their memories with you. Soar through the skies by yourself, or with others – friends or strangers – as you take in the view and the music. Solve the mysteries and return the fallen Stars to their constellations.

The game is free to play with in-app purchases of “Candles”. Seasonal events mean seasonal spirits, along with events sprinkled around. The newest season is The Season of Belonging, as announced on 18 November, and it brings various areas, collectibles and quests with it:

• Team up to travel through six realms to solve the quests in order to uncover and reunite a family of the seven ancestors who have separated in the kingdom.
• Unlock and learn six expressions from the family spirits, including Celebrate, LoopDance, Sparkler, Wise Stance, Don’t Go and Hair Tousle.
• Discover the family’s origins and build friendships with each member. Earn exotic new items to collect, such as: three new festive capes, guitar and ukulele instruments (two new music sheets), four masks, one pair of cozy pants, two new headwear, and an ultimate adventure season item.
• Hidden Forest and Vault of Knowledge have been expanded with new areas.
• Look out for the ‘Days of Giving’ event coming soon in the game.
• Added more Winged Light for increased player flight.
• There are new kinds of Sky puzzles to solve.
• New Customization / Closet features added.
