Demon Lord Luminus Valentine finally appears in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Memories in her anime appearance. In December last year, she debuted in a maid outfit as a wind unit. However, we’ll be looking at the OG Luminus, and determine if she’s worth pulling for in the game.
Luminus’s first skill is both a debuff and self-buff. It lowers one enemy’s magic attack resistance by 20% (30%) while also increasing her own magic attack by 30%. Both effects last for 1 turn. The skill costs 25 (15) skill points.
Her second skill decreases a single target’s Secret Skill Gauge by 10% while also increasing her own Secret Skill Gauge by 15% (25%). The cost of this skill is 50 (40) skill points.
This queen is busted. High ATK + single-target Secret Skill + two incredible skills easily make her rank alongside some of the best units in the game like Wind Milim and Fire Milim. Not only can she self-buff her own ATK like Gazel, but she also debuffs the enemy’s resistance, essentially making her hit harder than him (assuming no crit).
Furthermore, her teammates also benefit from the magic resistance debuff. While this obviously limits who she could team up with, fellow magic damage dealers will absolutely love her, while her self-buff is still impactful enough even if you team her up with physical damage dealers.
Her second skill is a superior version of [Harmonizer of Monsters and Humans] Rimuru Tempest. On top of buying your team an extra turn to avoid a boss’ Secret Skill, she also outright fills up her own gauge. You can use this both defensively and offensively, making her an incredibly practical unit.
If it isn’t clear enough already, [The Queen of Nightmares] Luminus Valentine is an absolute must-pull for your team in Slime ISEKAI Memories. She will shine in just about any team you put her in, both as a damage dealer and a support character.
