Malaysian developers Cellar Vault Games are kicking off Ghost Month in style with a new trailer for Short Creepy Tales: 7PM.
The game is an interactive story that takes place in a low-cost apartment block. You play as a group of children trying to befriend a mysterious new neighbor. However, they end up with strange visitations and are soon exploring the entire apartment block to get to the bottom of things.
Short Creepy Tales: 7PM has a great aesthetic, with all the characters and items looking like paper cutouts. The charming artstyle also helps sell the game’s underlying supernatural horror themes.
The trailer also shows you the more horror-centric parts of the game, and looks like the perfect game to play during a night in.
You can also interact with the various other residents of the apartment block, completing minigames for them to advance the plot. The developers have said that conversational choices matter, and that some decisions will render others inaccessible.
The developers have said they plan for this to be part of an anthology, but have made no mention of details regarding other games.
The game will be available in September, 2020 via Steam. Horror afficionados can also look at the many other horror games we’ve already covered.
