Shin Megami Tensei fans have long been left in the dust with how popular Persona is, but rejoice, as SMT 3: Nocturne will receive a HD remaster in Spring 2021. The news was announced at the Nintendo Direct Mini for July 2020, with a disclaimer that release dates may yet see changes due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The closest SMT game that fans would have had recently would be the mobile Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation which has seen a global release. With only the teaser trailer, it’s not known what new features the SMT 3 HD remaster will get, but presumably we can have at least dual audio. The Switch release for The World Ends With You added new story, so it seems possible SMT would get that too.
Meanwhile, here’s the trailer for SMT V:
Announced way back in 2017, there’s finally some tangible news about its impending release. The game will be releasing exclusively for the Switch, and will be a simultaneous worldwide release as well. We have our first look at our yet unnamed apparent protagonist, looking to seal their fate with whatever god of “creation” for an assuredly world-changing, demon-filled journey ahead.
We’ll see when more news will come out. What’s a little longer to wait?
