Shin Kamen Rider, the newest incarnation of the iconic tokusatsu franchise is due to release in 2023 however a new preview of the film has already been released during a press event.
The preview is actually two near-identical previews, The ‘Shin Kamen Rider A’ trailer is a near shot for shot recreating of the original 1971 Kamen Rider intro right down to the theme song ‘Let’s Go!! Rider Kick’.
‘Shin Kamen Rider Trailer B’ however uses more dynamic camera angles and new sound effects. Both trailers ending with some shots of the new villain who seems to be a completely new character, not based on any of the previous villains from the series.
Shin Kamen Rider is being directed by Hideaki Anno, the creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion and it will be the third tokusatsu adaptation as part of his ‘Shin’ series after Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman.
The press event was also revealed to actors in the movie. Kamen Rider or Takeshi Hongo will be played by Sosuke Ikematsu who previously acted in the critically acclaimed Japanese drama Shoplifters and the television adaptation of Death Note: New Generation as Ryuzaki.
The female lead, Ruriko Midorikawa is played by Minami Hamabe, most well known for playing Yumeko Jabami in the live-action Kakegurui movies and the young Mia Fey in the Ace Attorney movie.

Filming preparation has already begun on the movie. It will release in 2023.
