Shin Kamen Rider is due to be released in 2023 in celebration of Kamen Rider’s 50th anniversary. It will be written and directed by Hideaki Anno who had previously written Neon Genesis Evangelion and Shin Godzilla. He is also currently working on the upcoming movie ‘Shin Ultraman’. This will make Kamen Rider the third in Anno’s series of Tokusatsu reboots.
We currently don’t know much about the film itself. It is possible that the film is a reboot of the story of the original Kamen Rider 1, much like how Shin Godzilla was a reboot of the original Godzilla, but it could be a completely new Rider entirely.
A collection of merchandise has also been created for Kamen Rider’s 50th anniversary. These include a replica of the belt worn by the first two riders and Digimon Vital Bracelets so that you can raise your own Kamen Rider.
