Shikihime announces new smartphone project

Appirits announced a new smartphone game project to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their Shikihime series, currently dubbed as Shikihime Project. For the time being, Shikihime Project currently has its teaser website here and official Twitter account online, without much detail to go off on.

The series consists of a variety of games, though by now, all of them have ended service. From the English Appirits website, you can see a list of them for browser and mobile, though the English descriptions haven’t been updated for titles later than 2016. You had:

• Kakuriyo no Mon: A story based MMORPG game featuring you as a novice Onmyoji, with your Shikihime, fight against Ayakashi that appear in various locations and find out about the hidden mystery of Kakuriyo Gate.
• Shikihime Garden: A simulation game where you open a garden to be a comfortable, relaxation ground for your Shikihime
• Shikihime Zoushi: A strategy simulation game where you use your Shikihime to fight other players and expand your territory
• Shikihime Tenyuki
• Hinemosu Shikihime
• Utsushiyo no Tobari

A number of these were likewise localized into English and other languages.

The basic premise of the series had female shikigami train under your tutelage as their Onmyoji. We’ll see how successful this revival may be.
