Shaman, a webtoon by Seok Jeong-hyun, will be adapted into both a drama and a console game. While the Shaman webtoon itself appears hardly known outside of South Korea, drama fans may be interested to know that Park Jae-Bum – of Good Doctor and Vincenzo – is billed for the series. Lee Hong-Nae and Heo Sung-Tae are named to be part of the game.
Shaman features a futuristic reunified Korea, where what brief English summary is given says a lone special agent is tasked to protect an idol group known as ORDO. The webtoon appears to have completed its run, having first been published in 2018. EVR Studio is supposed to be developing a “AAA console game” based on the IP. They’ll be working in collaboration with AStory, with the drama looking to build up hype for the game’s release. A promotional image can be found below, pretty much a 1:1 render of the original webtoon art.
The drama is apparently slated to air in the second half of 2022, with the game following sometime in 2023. EVR Studio’s niche looks to be hyper-realistic VR works, with one of their projects being ProjectM: a teaser of which is available for free on Steam.
