Premium side-scroller Shadow Knight is finally available on iOS. It’s a premium game costing USD0.99 on the App Store, however it still contains In-App purchases.
The game features a dark gothic aesthetic, with monsters like Orcs and Beastmen for you to fight. You carry a huge sword with you, with plenty of powerful moves to cleave your way through them.
It also uses a mostly-silhouette-based art style, so expect a lot of nice picturesque screenshots of your character almost entirely in silhouette against the game’s backdrops.
You’ll also have plenty of platforming, as the main character can do dashes as well as jump off of walls. Though the game is a sidescroller there’ll be plenty of segments where you’ll have to traverse vertically a la many metroidvanias.
The game was previously released on Android devices in April of this year. However, now iOS players can get in on the action too and pretend they’re Guts from Berserk.
However, those on Android can also pick up the game for free right now, seemingly as part of an offer to celebrate the iOS release.
Despite being a premium title, Shadow Knight still contains in-app purchases. The game does not currently have any plans for a console release.
