Remedy Entertainment has announced its first DLC for Alan Wake 2 titled “Night Springs”, which will be dropping tomorrow, June 8, 2024.
As part of Summer Game Fest 2024, Sam Lake, the head of Remedy Entertainment took the stage and surprise announced “Night Springs”, the first of two Alan Wake 2 DLCs.
Fans of the series would recognize Night Springs as The Twilight Zone-inspired show that the titular author wrote for before his big break.
In the DLC, there will be 3 new episodes to play, each featuring a familiar character as they portray different versions of themselves in a “what if” scenario.
“It gave us a chance to get really out there… not that we weren’t already doing that,” said Sam Lake, lead developer at Remedy Entertainment.
From the trailer, we can see 3 fan-favorite characters becoming playable, from Shawn Ashmore as Sheriff Tim Breaker to super fan waitress Rose Marigold from the original Alan Wake.
Jesse Faden, the protagonist of Control, another one of Remedy’s hit games, also made an appearance in the trailer, and so does Remedy’s head Sam Lake himself.
Players who own the Deluxe Edition of Alan Wake 2 with the Expansion Pass, will get access to the DLC at no extra cost, while the Standard Edition owners would have to purchase the DLC.
Apart from the DLC, Alan Wake 2 will also be getting physical releases with a Deluxe Edition that includes all DLCs, and a Collector’s Edition.
