Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has revealed the release date for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, which launches 9th November 2023, as part of the Summer Game Fest 2023.
Revealed back at the Ryu Ga Gotoku Summit 2022 event, Like a Dragon Gaiden is a spin-off title featuring Kiryu Kazuma as the game’s main protagonist. While there wasn’t much shown during the initial announcement of the game, we now have a brief sneak peek of the game’s combat system.
Like a Dragon Gaiden will have players switch between the Yakuza and Agent fighting styles. With the Yakuza Style, players can strike fear into enemies by unleashing wildly aggressive moves. Whilst with the Agent Style, Kiryu can deliver blows with speed and precision, while using high-tech gadgets like elctrified bind wires to stun enemies.
Story
Having fakes his own death to protect his loved ones, Kazuma Kiryu, who was the once-renowned yakuza, is now living in obscurity.
Kiryu Kazuma still occasionally receives missions as a secret agent for the Daidoji Faction, a shadowy organisation that once operated as a fixer for the government. Kiryu’s existence is kept a guarded secret within Daidoji. Until one day, someone arrives to drag Kiryu back into the fold.
