We finally got an official release date for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II after five years since its initial reveal alongside the Xbox Series consoles.
As part of today’s Xbox Developer Direct, developers Ninja Theory shared more gameplay of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and announced that its release date will be May 21, 2024, for the Xbox Series X|S and PC, digital-only.
Yes, the game will be released as a digital-only title with no plans for a physical release at the moment, however, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will still be landing on Xbox Game Pass on day one for those who subscribed.
Furthermore, in an Xbox Wire post, Ninja Theory also mentioned that Senua’s Sage: Hellblade II will have roughly a similar game length as its predecessor Senua’s Sacrifice, which took about 7.5 to 9 hours to complete.
Similar in theme to the original, the Xbox Wire blog post describes the game as “a brutal journey of cinematic immersion” and once again follows “Senua in understanding her world through perception puzzles led by her experiences of psychosis, in brutal and visceral combat and in traversal gameplay, this time across the harsh but beautiful landscapes of 10th Century Iceland.”
“Crucially, all these elements are intertwined in a unique visual and audio experience, where everything is in service of Senua’s story.”
“So, you can expect more of the same, but this time with the support to push our ambitions for immersion, fidelity and richness far further than before. “
