SEGA had just recently launched a countdown site for their IP, Phantasy Star! Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, they launched the countdown site with a statement below indicating that it’s an RPG for both iOS and Android devices! Currently, there are no news on the game but there will be in the future where they will announce the title on July 23rd, 8 pm PT/ 11 pm ET!
Phantasy Star is a popular IP that was existed as early as 1987. The first game of the series, Phantasy Star, was released for the Master System, a console made by SEGA. It was popular back in the days for its cross genre RPG of magic and technology. With its latest release in 2014 for the PS Vita, Phantasy Star Nova, it has been 4 years since they announced anything regarding the franchise!
Now that SEGA had made their move with Phantasy Star, it isn’t hard to believe that they are bring the IP onto mobile since this is the next best portable device and it’s also a very profitable market.
