– Interview Questions –
1. We can see each update and COD keep upgrading the weapons. How do you manage to balance the weapon statistics? And which weapon do people think is the meta?
“We balance the weapons by continue watching people through looking at stats. Sometime we have artifacts which to make it through, like the Underbarrel shotgun issues we’re doing right now, such its going to pop out for that very soon. We kinda like to look at stats in adjust of the people usings, we adjust what’s in the loop pools, we also have to keep in mind of people that can bring whatever they want in the loadouts, so it really an ongoing task of balancing and kinda shifting the meta.” said Joseph.
Amos also added on that “We have stats on what people use, how it affective they are to them, and guns of players used, and we also make sure the game is not staled and balanced and make sure the meta is shifting. You know, we dont want people using the same gun, cause its get boring , so we tried to replaced that and we also not just looking at specific gun, we also check on the classes. So we’re trying to make people use as many variety of guns as possible.”
2. With all the available maps, which one has the highest death rate/most popular among them all according to the statistics?
I think recently in season 5 was the stadium, you know we ripped that open, and a lot of crazy video stats of people just dropping at there over and over and they kind of consume and enjoy that spaces, and which is like a big negative bubble in the longest time. But other than that I guess the popular area is like where the circle is, so it varies. And the train also a big hot-spot for player to fight over and enjoying that new mechanic. – Joseph
Amos also said that players are also using contracts to determine which places to drop, the players like to drop where their favorite contracts location but to see where the circle is and where the plan is going.
3. The new Verdansk Stadium field of battle is super hype among the fanbase! Are we to see more mission updates examples like “Crack the Stadium Room Key-Code” in this field of battle?
“I think we always have something new like different bunkers, key cards and there’s other cool stuff work later on that we cant talk about it just yet that will be used in the map in a really unique way that’s like a secret and an Easter egg experience” said Joseph.
Amos also said that they’ll be keeping that map alive to keep players experience more Easter eggs as well as more story missions to the map.
4. We can see there’s a new operator “Lerch” is a Shadow Company operator of the Allegiance faction. How do you come out to create this character? Maybe you may share a short story of creating him.
According to Joseph, they usually base their operators such as Lerch and Zedra off real world people, including their style and presentation to give them a more grounded and realistic operator.
5. Can you share up for COD MW future updates? Especially whats on your mind for next season?
Joseph mentioned a bit of the upcoming updates during the middle of the season which will include a new Mortair Operator. Not only that, Joseph also revealed a new team deathmatch-like game mode called King Slayer.
King Slayer features 52 players in a moving circle where players can parachute with their teams and try to get kills. By killing a leading player on a mark with the flag on them allows players to get a bonus score. The team is excited to drop this new update maybe in the coming week.
6. Will there be any abilities for the operators?
To put it simply, no, the operators will not have abilities. Joseph said that he wanted the operators to represent a kind of wide procession in both genre and races like people either wanted to be or represent them and adding abilities would ruin that immersion. “And if we have that on characters, players will just try on 1 to 2 characters and everyone like have too much of power, it’s kind like not too fun for the player’s experience. So its more fun to like just pick your character and pick your own fantasies.” added Amos.
7. There’s one more thing that we are really excited about in this season, The Train is Now Moving! Players in Warzone are so excited to move around on the train. During the development of this train, did you have any idea that you scrapped?
“We have a whole list of game mode ideas that revolves around the train. The first idea was getting the train in the map, playing and performing well and have loot in it so that players can enjoy the experience of fighting in the train. Players on the train get to enjoy mini games such as “King of the Hill” and it got a positive feedback from the community.” said Joseph. He also said that the next step for them is by being able to play Plunder on the train as well as having a Battle Royale mode on the trains and many more other stuff.
8. Following up with Warzones, what actually happened with the “invisible” bugs? Because some people think it was hilarious.
Joseph said that when a bug like that happens, the development team will try to fix the bug as soon as possible. Amos also added on to that saying that “Yeah it was an accident, the bug maybe funny or useful but the development team would try to fix them immediately.”
A last word from Joseph and Amos expressing their gratitude to all of the players and it’s crazy to think about how far the game has reached.
