Sasaya is an indie 2D Metroidvania, available now on iOS and Android. The game features wizards, monsters, and a mystical castle full of mystery.
You play as Maria, a girl in a magic castle battling the forces of evil. The game wears its Castlevania influences on its sleeve, as you use a whip-like weapon to defeat the game’s monsters.
According to developer Noe, the game will feature several challenges for Maria, including decisions. Characters will try to coax Maria into making difficult decisions, and these can affect the game’s ending.
Given the game’s reverence for Metroidvanias, its safe to assume the game will have some focus on exploration, as well as abilities for Maria.
The game’s trailer shows plenty of the game’s platforming sequences, featuring pendulums and all manner of floor traps. Several enemies were shown as well, like a monster archer as well as wandering slimes.
As Sasaya offers no in-app purchases, it’s instead available for a one-time fee of RM7.90 (US Pricing: USD 1.99). iOS users will need to be running at least iOS 10 to run the game.
Android users can enjoy the game at a discounted price of RM7.09, before it goes back up to its regular price of RM12.99.
