Koei Tecmo America and developer Omega Force have announced the addition of 10 playable fighters to Samurai Warriors 5, Koei Tecmo’s epic tactical-action experience. Samurai Warriors 5 will be launching in North America on 27 July 2021, for the Nintendo Switch, PS4 ( PS5 compatible ), Xbox One ( Xbox Series X | S compatible ) and PC via Steam.
The Samurai Warriors 5 characters announced today include ten former non-playable characters, now ready to vie for the spotlight. They have unique graphics but are closer to the supporting cast and are not part of the main storyline, and thus may not have unique Power Attacks or other features the previously revealed 27 characters can employ in battle. They are still some of the fiercest warriors yet, and should not be overlooked in combat.
Members of the new supporting cast include everyone from Nobunaga’s younger brother, Nobuyuki Oda, to Motonari Mōri’s grandson, Terumoto Mōri. Additional historic figures will also be featured, including Motonobu Okabe, Katsuyori Takeda, Motoharu Kikkawa, Dōsan Saitō, Yoshitatsu Saitō, Yoshiaki Ashikaga, Yoshikage Asakura, and Fujihide Mitsubuchi.
The game will receive post-launch DLC which includes all-new scenarios, BGM sets and horses. Bonuses for digital pre-orders include special outfits for Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi, for both their youth and mature versions. Learn more via the official website.
