Baiken from Guilty Gear has been revealed as the latest DLC character to release for Samurai Shodown, rounding off the current season pass.
Baiken will release in Samurai Shodown on August 19th, for all versions of the game.
In the new trailer for Baiken, she brings Guilty Gear’s more aggressive playstyle to the otherwise more defense-oriented Samurai Shodown. She’s shown having aerial options, launching enemies in the air with her Tatami Gaeshi among other moves that will make her a challenge to deal with.
Similar to her playstyle in Guilty Gear, a lot of her options are also based around the plethora of gadgets she uses in place of her missing arm (true to Guilty Gear style, which arm is missing changes depending on which way she’s facing).
While the specific character was never mentioned, the Guilty Gear Samurai Shodown collaboration was teased earlier this year during the Fighting Game Roundtable conference, which saw developers of all the biggest fighting games from SNK, Capcom, Bandai Namco Entertainment and Arc System Works talk about the state of fighting games as well as promote their big titles.
Baiken in particular is a fan favorite character, frequently topping fan polls for requested characters as DLC. While she’s in Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, she has yet to be announced for Guilty Gear Strive.
