Jun Imaizumi explains the reason behind the decision was that the team believed that Sakura Ignoramus will not be able to provide a satisfactory experience to the playbase due to various factors.
From Marvelous’ recent earning report forecast, the sales of Sakura Ignoramus is far below expectations. To prevent further loses, the company had decided to stop the game entirely; due to the low possibility of recovering the operational costs and initial development costs.
Players will also be eligible for full refunds regardless on the amount that was spent in the in-game store. The refund process will begin from 28th April till 27th July; it’s advised that players should avoid uninstalling the game.
According to AppMagic, Sakura Ignoramus had amassed a total revenue of over 74 Thousand USD across the two months in Japan.
