Feral Interactive has announced that the acclaimed historical strategy game ROME: Total War will be released for Android on 19th December. Originally developed for the PC, the game made its way into the iOS prior to development for Android.
Similar to the original ROME: Total War for the PC, the game features real-time battles within a turn-based strategic campaign. Players take control of their army in battles across the Roman Empire. In campaign mode, players take control of one of three Roman families in their quest to unite all of Rome.
At the strategic level, players must manage diplomacy, develop infrastructure, move armies and manage population growth. Additionally, they can also maintain public order through taxes and gladitorial games. On the other hand, players must use tactics and strategy to win battles against enemy armies. Here, players can opt to use a variety of strategical tactics that best suit the situation. They can choose to surround their enemy by using a pincer attack or even charge head-on with sheer force. Overall, the player’s objective is to conquer all of Rome while managing their own kingdom.
“We’re very excited to bring ROME: Total War to Android users,” said David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive. “We’ve taken everything we learned from the success of the game on mobile and used it to create the best possible experience on a range of Android devices.”
Unfortunately, the game will only work on high-end phones due to its demanding requirements. On the other hand, devices with Android 7 and 3GB RAM may be able to run the game at the cost of poor performance. On the bright side, the game is available in all territories supported by Google Play.
