The Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure spin-off short story Rohan At The Louvre will be getting a live-action movie adaptation.
The movie will premiere in Japan on the 26th of May 2023. You can watch a teaser trailer for Rohan’s Louvre adventure on channel Asmik Ace, the film’s production company.
The film will also be acting as a continuation of the live-action TV mini-series Thus Spoke Roha Kishibe, based on the manga series of the same name. Issei Takahashi will be reprising his role as Rohan Kishibe and Marie Iitoyo will likewise be returning as his assistant Kyoka Izumi.
Many of the staff from the mini-series will also be back for the movie. This includes the director Kazutaka Watanabe, Writer Yasuko Kobayashi, composer Naruyoshi Kikuchi, character designer Isao Tsuge, and production coordinators Naoko Saitō, Keisuke Tsuchihashi, and Sangkeun Han.
Here is a synopsis of the plot of The Rohan At The Louvre manga which will the movie will be based on:
Rohan, a young mangaka (Japanese manga artist), meets a beautiful mysterious young woman with a dramatic story. Seeing him draw, she tells him of a cursed 200-year-old painting that used the blackest ink ever known, from a 1000-year-old tree that the painter had brought down. The painting was saved by the curator of the Louvre – Rohan forgets this story until, 10 years later, he tries to locate it on a visit to Paris. Little does he know how violent the curse really is. Fans of manga will appreciate the innovative storyline and the energetic, psychedelic visuals within.
