Ring of Fire: Prometheus was meant to have a beta test within 2021, which has since been delayed. You can first check out the gameplay trailer below:
The notice was posted via the Ring of Fire: Prometheus TapTap group, with the developers – known as Dimcroon going by the trailer – informing that they will announce any further updates as soon as possible with regards to the beta. Going by the roughly translated post, the team has been hard at work improving the quality of the art, plot and gameplay experience. In the process, they mention how they’ve misjudged the amount of work and time required to actually further polish these aspects. They ask for your patience to allow them to deliver a “unique and artistic title” once it’s ready.
From the trailer alone, you can see that there’s a blend of pixel work and traditional 2D art, making for quite a striking looking game. It’s supposedly an action RPG with rogue-like elements.
Previous blog posts from the developer include closer looks at the characters, some settings and even a Q&A. The team is apparently a small one, looking to craft a fairly ambitious game all things considered. In any case, stay tuned, and hope for a global release some day.
