The paths are open, with Re:Zero Lost in Memories now available for mobile devices in Japan! If you missed out on what the game is, it’s basically an alternate path story for Re:Zero. We’ve gotten a peek at the gameplay here, which we’ll summarize as follows:
- 2D battle game
- Utilize character skills with animated cut-ins to enhance the experience
- Deep character growth system
- Equip them with Memory Crystals
- Further enhance abilities and skills with skill trees and growth boards
- Many story branches to explore
Besides the story battles, there is both an arena and an incrementally tougher PvE content that players can challenge. Considering the nature of the game, the branching stories can be considered the biggest draw for the game, with the story supervised by Tappei Nagatsuki. If you ever wanted to decide Subaru’s alternate fate, here’s your chance (if you can read Japanese and fully understand the gravity of your choices).
