Resident Evil Village has announced a second demo for the upcoming title, letting you explore the game’s world ahead of its release next month.
Similar to the demo for Resident Evil 2 Remake, the Resident Evil Village Second Demo will be a time-limited window to explore either the village or castle areas. This time you’ll get one hour, being able to divide it up between the the two areas. The demo starts May 2nd.
Unlike the game’s first demo, this one will be available for both Playstation 5 and PlayStation 4 users, rather than being locked to the next-gen hardware.
In addition, PlayStation owners will also get early access to the demo, albeit in separate halves. Titled “8 hours in Village”, 30-minute individual demos for the Castle and Village portions of the game will open up on April 18th (Village) and April 25th (Castle). This doesn’t count towards the main second demo, so you’ll be able to use it to case out either locale before jumping in on the other demo.
The demo starts May 2nd for Asia, but you’ll be able to pre-load it ahead of time starting today if you’re playing it on either PlayStation console.
Aside from that Capcom also introduced The Mercenaries, a new arcadey gametype in Resident Evil Village. This is a more arcadey experience where Ethan will have to push through levels and kill off enemies under a time limit. You’ll be able to access The Duke, who will let you buy upgrades between rounds.
