There is no confirmed reason why the game is being shut down after such a short amount of time however its official website states that the management team “came to the decision that it would be difficult to provide services that would satisfy our customers”.
Looking at AppMagic however it becomes more apparent that the game has seen a sharp decline in revenue.
After the game’s launch at the start of September 2021, it quickly fell from over $450,000 USD to $106,000 USD in just the first month. By September of 2022, it was only bringing in just over $7,500 USD.
The game is based on the harem comedy anime Rent a Girlfriend however it also included heroines from several other popular anime including Seven Deadly Sins, Fairy Tale, and Fire Force, all voiced by their original actresses.
Rent a Girlfriend: Heroine All-Stars will remain available for mobile devices until January 25th, 2023 when it proceeds to shut down.
