As one of Southeast Asia’s largest ACG events, Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2024 (AFASG24) concluded its three-day celebration from November 29 to December 1 at the Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre, Singapore. The event became the ultimate destination for fans of anime, cosplay, music, and gaming, offering unforgettable experiences. We had the privilege of attending, and here’s a glimpse of our journey:
Upon arrival, we received a detailed event guide highlighting exhibitor booths, cosplayer areas, and stage activity schedules, setting the tone for an exciting day ahead.
The exhibition floor was a paradise for anime enthusiasts, showcasing popular IPs like One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Each booth delivered unique experiences, from merchandise displays to interactive zones.
One standout was Crunchyroll’s Solo Leveling zone, immersing fans into the world of this hit series.
Gaming Highlights
The GameOn zone was a hub for gamers, featuring titles like Cookie Run: Braveverse, Infinity Nikki, and Yu-Gi-Oh! The Bandai Namco booth also shone with playable demos for Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival, DEATH NOTE Killer Within, and *Guilty Gear -Strive-.
Tabletop fans enjoyed TableCon Quest, with games like Legions of Kadmon and Isekai the Board Game. For TCG enthusiasts, the Yu-Gi-Oh! booth was a must-visit, offering activities like creating custom Token Cards, PvP duels, and Master Duel demos.
Booth Highlights
Other crowd favorites included the MIKU EXPO booth with exclusive merchandise and Bushiroad’s booth featuring Hunter×Hunter Nen×Impact, stage costumes, and TCG demos.
Day Stage events at the AFASG24 delivered unique moments despite the absence of voice actor Yuya Hirose and producer Yuki Watanabe from Übel Blatt due to travel issues. Their virtual participation and the first episode screening ensured fans still had a memorable time. Akiba Stage featured captivating performances by Vtubers, singers, and cosplayers, while the cosplay area brought together over 120 creators from 21 countries. Fans relished the chance to meet their idols and explore stunning illustrations on display.
A Celebration of Shared Passion
The bustling merchandise area offered a treasure trove of collectibles, from classic anime to gaming franchises. Though the venue was packed, the energy and camaraderie of thousands of fans made AFASG24 a vibrant celebration of shared passions.
