Famed otome game developer Rejet is developing a new mobile spin-off to its Ken ga Kimi franchise in the form of an RPG titled simply Ken ga Toki, in collaboration with Xiimoon Shanghai Entertainment.
All Ken ga Kimi staff will reprise their roles for Ken ga Toki, so expect to see the return of original author Ichimon Fukamachi and illustrator Yome for this project as well. Given that this is essentially based in the same universe, Ken ga Toki shares a similar setting with Ken ga Kimi. As such the new game will still focus on the Tenga Go Ken, also known as the legendary five great katanas. The heroine (you) chance upon a mysterious sword and somehow time travels to 17th century Japan, where the aforementioned five katanas are said to touted to possess the ability to defeat an ancient evil.
Bearing the burden of the sword carrier, the heroine ends up getting embroiled in a conflict between monsters, the oni, and humans. Ken ga Toki is scheduled to be released sometime in 2018, and made available in Japanese and Simplified Chinese. Be sure to drop by the main site for more information.
