Com2uS has opened registrations for the SWC / Summoners War World Championship 2020 from 22 June to 6 July. Players will compete for a total prize pool of $210,000, with preliminaries beginning in late August, and the World Finals in November. Users will also get items on registering, so why not try?
The first SWC was in 2017, with the World Finals held in Los Angeles, United States. It has since travelled worldwide, garnering support from esports fans worldwide year on year. 2019’s World Finals in Paris, France, saw around 1.25 million views!
SWC 2020 is the fourth tournament, with all matches to be held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure the safety of players and audience. Matches will be live-streamed via the Summoners War Official Esports YouTube Channel. You can also look forward to various other video content to enhance your viewing experience!
There will be three regional cups: Asia-Pacific Cup, Europe Cup and Americas Cup. From the first preliminaries in late August, a total of 8 players from the regional cups will fight it out in the World Finals. As usual, matches will be in SWC battle mode, with a double elimination bracket in the preliminaries.
Registrations can be done through the SWC 2020 application page. Players will be selected based on their records of World Arena Season 12 and Season 13, each. Find out more on the official website.
