Rockstar has announced that Red Dead Redemption, along with its zombie DLC Undead Nightmare, is being ported to the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
This ported version of the game will now support a variety of newly added languages, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Latin American Spanish.
In the official announcement by Rockstar, they stated that Double Eleven Studios are responsible for this conversion, the same studio is working on the console edition of the popular multiplayer survival game, Rust.
Backwards compatibility for the PS5 will also be available upon release.
Originally launched in 2010 to immense critical acclaim and with over 170 gaming awards, Red Dead Redemption continues to be one of Rockstar’s most cherished titles.
This will be the latest addition to a growing list of classic open-world games making their way to the Switch this year, as it was announced earlier that the Batman: Arkham Trilogy will also be available on the handheld console.
While the announcement may not satisfy fans hoping for news on Grand Theft Auto 6, it certainly comes as a pleasant surprise for owners of Nintendo Switch and PS4.
Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare are set to arrive on August 17, 2023, for $49.99 on the Nintendo Switch and PS4.
