The standalone versions of the online is available at a special introductory price of RM23.70, a whole 75% off its regular price of RM79. Fans can buy the game at this price from now until February 15th.
Since it’s not a freemium version of the Read Dead Online experience, it is functionally the same game as Red Dead Online, and will get all the same updates, including the new Prestigious Bounty Hunter License.
Read Dead Online is the multiplayer half of Read Dead Redemption 2. Although it’s treated like a separate game, it relied on Read Dead Redemption 2 as a mandatory buy-in, similar to GTA Online and GTA V.
While Rockstar games have typically had good stories, their online counterparts always tend to outlive the game as more people jump onto those for the opportunity to play with friends. the Read Dead Online standalone release will likely be a huge help in boosting the game’s playerbase, being much cheaper than the full price of the game.
The proof is in GTA V’s multiplayer, which has continued to rake in profits for Rockstar even half a decade after the game’s original launch, with the game getting a re-release on its third console generation soon.
