Originally launched at Japan’s Comiket in December 2007, Recettear tells the story of Recette Lemongrass, a young girl tasked with running an item shop to repay her father’s debt. Her journey is complicated by the constant presence of Tear, a determined fairy, who insists on helping her with the daunting challenge. Players manage all aspects of Recette’s shop, from inventory and pricing to interior design, all while exploring dungeons to gather stock from defeated monsters.
