Razer has given us our first look at the latest in their Razer Kraken V3 Pro headphone line, their first wireless headphone model. These will be launched at Razer Con.
Razer says that they took what worked about their previous headsets, the Razer Nari, Blackshark, and Kraken, and implemented them into the Kraken V3.
We have maintained the fundamentals of what makes a great gaming headset, things like sound and of course comfort making sure all it is there, and then added upgraded features as well.
The Razer Kraken V3 Pro will be launched alongside 2 other Kraken headphones, the Kraken Hyperscenese and regular Kraken V3. The Hperscense and V3 are wired, while the V3 Pro is wireless.
Razer states that their aim with this line is to create the most immersive gaming experience possible through headsets. These will be done through:
Haptics
They will also come with Razer Hypersense, the latest in rumble pack technology to help you feel like you’re in the game, holding weapons, feeling the hits. Games nowadays have very detailed worlds and sound design to convey stories and gameplay. Gamers depend heavily on their sense of sight and hearing but Razer says that Hypersense will extend that to touch as well.
Games in the past would only have “one-dimensional feedback” with the same vibration for each action. Hypersense’s vibration however will have a range of vibration from slight, to a lot and one a wider frequency range to create even more sensations. Explosions will hit harder, the rumbling of a tank will be subtler.
It is also stereo, with the rumbles coming from haptics sensors in each are cup. If a gunshot comes from your left, you’ll feel it come from your left and wiz over to your right. It can help with a greater sense of awareness and direction.
And it does all this in real-time as opposed to the on and off nature of previous rumble packs. All you need is sound and it apparently does the rest. There are even different settings for the haptics for those that want a higher or lower intensity with a button on the side of the headphones
Sound
Sound has always been necessary to bring you into the game. The Razer Kraken V3 will feature Razer’s patented Razer Triforce 50MM Titanium Drivers, this divides the audio drivers into three distinct parts for the individual tuning of highs, mids, and lows.
It also has THX spatial audio which includes custom sounds profiles for certain games like Counterstrike Go or Valorant.
Comfort
An important part of any headset. The V3 features a hybrid fabric and leatherette memory foam cushions for an ideal balance between comfort and noise isolation. They also help to transfer the haptics to your ears.
The V3 also features a more comfortable headband to ensure better support around the head for longer periods of time. The headband is also steel-reinforced all the way to each end to keep it durable and flexible.
All three Krakens will also come to Razer Chroma RGB for those who enjoy RGB lighting as they game. The microphone is detachable and they charge with a USB-C cable.
Here are the main difference between the three headphones:
The Kraken V3 is $99.99 (MYR 415), the Hyperspace is $129.99 (MYR 540) and the V3 Pro is $199.99 (MYR 831).
All three Kraken V3 models will be available on October 21 from Razer’s Official Store and licensed retailers.
