During today’s Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft revealed that their classic character Rayman will be crossing over into Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. He will be starring in the game’s third DLC extension.
In a new gameplay video, Mario and his friends have to save the planet Terra Flora from cosmic villain Cursa. They will have to defeat enemies and face the Wiggler, enraged and infected by Cursa’s dark influence.
The extract showcases a new vibrant world as well as all the different moves, combos, and action players have at their disposal. It also shows the wild possibilities brought by the Sparks during combat, as this boss battle promises to be another iconic moment in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
Ubisoft also surprised its audience by revealing that Rayman will be appearing in Mario + Rabbids. Available as a new playable character in an upcoming extension for the game, he will join forces with Rabbid Peach and Rabbid Mario. This additional content will be buyable separately or as part of the season pass, also included in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Gold Edition.
Rayman first appeared in his own series of platformer games with the latest being Rayman Legends which was released in 2013 and was later ported to the Switch as Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition.
The Rabbids actually first appeared in the Rayman spin-off title ‘Rayman Raving Rabbids’ for the Nintendo Wii which soon produced its own line of sequels before separating from Rayman entirely and becoming all about the Rabbids. This will be the first time the two franchises have reunited since Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party in 2008.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope will release for Nintendo Switch on October 20th.
