Blizzard has launched the latest expansion of their card game, Hearthstone, titled Rastakhan’s Rumble. The new expansion introduces 135 new cards and a new arsenal of mechanics to the game.
New Features
Rastakhan’s Rumble features a new mode in the game where players select one of the nine teams led by a Legendary Troll Champion. Each team represents one of the existing cards in the game. Furthermore, every team has access to the team’s respective Loa, one of the trolls’ venerable spirits now playable as a legendary minion. In addition, the game introduces Spirits, unique class-restricted units that synergizes with Loas. The expansion also adds an overkill mechanic to the game. Overkill grants players with additional effects when players deal excess damage to opposing cards.
In addition to the new additions, Rastakhan’s Rumble also features a single player mode named Rumble Run. It will launch on 13 December. The mode focuses on an up-and-coming troll gladiator named Rikkar who is on a quest to earn the title of strongest troll in Azeroth. At the moment, Blizzard did not reveal additional information on the single player aspect. However, they promised that more details will come as 13 December draws close.
Rastakhan’s Rumble is now available on the PC, Android and iOS. Players can buy card packs individually or in discounted bundles. On the other hand, card packs can be earned as quest rewards or Arena prizes. Recycling cards may also reward players with expansion cards.
Lastly, players who logged in to Hearthstone within a limited timeframe will receive six free Rastakhan’s Rumble packs. Moreover, they will also receive 3 cards to kick-start deck building ideas which are a random Legendary Loa and 2 rare Spirits (same class as received Loa).
