With the Rainbow Six Pro League wrapping up soon in Japan, Rainbow Six Siege Year 4 Season 4 looms in the horizon. Read on to see what’s in the future for Rainbow Six Siege.
THEME PARK REWORK
The Theme Park map sees a rework! The panel identifies several points to fix:
- Lighting
- Navigation
- Map size
- Transition to second floor / Trains
The Trains on the second floor get removed. The map now has easier navigation, and is easier to clear. The first floor’s Haunted House becomes the Chinese Castle. Navigation is also likewise improved, and visibility is now entirely different.
NEW CHARACTERS
WAMAI
Wamai is a Kenyan defender is part of Nighthaven. This stoic, quiet and powerful man works for Kali. He’s pitched as an alternative to Jager, disrupting gameplay to Jager’s cancelling abilities. He’s strong against Capitao. Should you want to counter him, pick IQ, Thatcher or Twitch drones.
Wamai has the Mag-Net System that sticks to surfaces when thrown. It will work on any enemy projectile in its radius and line of sight. The projectile will be detonated at the Mag-Net’s location. Flash and frag effects will still happen at the location of the Mag-Net. The Mag-Net can only take one projectile at a time. The Mag-Net also cannot affect Hibana’s X-KAIROS pellets or Twitch’s Shock Drone charges.
Wamai can regain charges on his gadgets gradually as a round progresses.
KALI
Wamai’s boss. This attacker is the head of Nighthaven. She’s a new type of character in Rainbow Six, a sniper Operator. This one is one truly requiring that teamwork. Kali is designed as an alternative to Thatcher. Funnily enough, you can pick Wamai, and Jager, to counter Kali.
This custom rifle has an explosive under-barrel to punch holes in walls and (multiple!) Operators alike in a single shot. Headshot for instant kill, torso shot for instant down. If you get downed by Kali, you’ll automatically spin to her position. A shot can also easily break wooden walls and unreinforced hatches. The scope has a 5x and 12x zoom.
If you find a need to break reinforced surfaces, then her Explosive Lance gadget will do the job. It’ll explode on both sides, even if it can’t penetrate a surface. It can’t break Mira’s Black Mirror, however.
QUALITY OF LIFE UPDATES
The way bullet penetration currently works has given the playerbase some frustration. The team’s heard you, so what’s been done? Bullets will now properly register instead of being blocked by limbs. This is mostly a quality of life update to ensure bullets will actually hit their mark.
Rappling exits will be more streamlined now, so that players do not get stuck in the animations. It will remain fluid, just with an easier exit.
PLAYLIST GUIDE
Ranked guides often get referred to for information. Now, it’ll be easier for players of all ranks and gameplay styles to learn how to play Rainbow Six Siege. Check out the Newcomer, Quickplay and Unraked Playlist Guides!

OPERATION SHIFTING TIDES
